How to create tr.ee short links

Create a tr.ee short link for any link or collection on your Linktree from its Share menu, or shorten any URL with Link shortener. Short links turn long URLs into clean links you can share anywhere. Add a channel and tags to see where your clicks come from.

  1. From My Linktree, select Edit. In the Links tab, find the link or collection you want to share.
  2. Select the three dots () on the link or collection, then select Share ().
A link in the Links tab with its three dots menu open, and an arrow pointing at Share.
  3. Select Add channel and tags or the edit icon () next to your short link if you want to customize it:
    • Short link: Change the end of your short link, or pick one of the suggestions.
    • Channel: Your Insights already show which platform sent each click. A channel tells you which specific post or place it came from. Choose a sharing option, like Instagram DM or YouTube Description, or create a custom channel.
    • Tags: Group related links with your own labels, like a campaign, product, or release. Then see how they perform together, wherever you've shared them.
The Edit short link window, with the short link field and suggestions, Instagram Story selected as the channel, and an arrow pointing at the Channel menu.
  4. Select Copy short link, or Copy in the Share window, then paste your short link wherever you want to share it.
The Share window, with a tr.ee short link and an arrow pointing at its Copy button.
  5. Select + next to Short links, then Create short link if you want another short link for the same link. Each one has its own channel and tags, so you can make one for each place you share it.

Tip

Use channels and tags together. For example, tag all your sale links "Summer Sale" and give each one a channel. Then use Individual Link Insights to see which placement drove the most clicks.

  1. Go to Link shortener under Tools in your Linktree Admin.
  2. Select Shorten a link, paste your long link, then select Shorten link.
  3. Copy your tr.ee link and share it anywhere.
