About links and Link Apps

You can add two kinds of links to your Linktree: classic links, which send visitors to another website, and Link Apps, which let visitors watch, listen, book, or buy without leaving your Linktree. You add both from + Add in the Links tab.

A classic link is a button that takes visitors off your Linktree, for example to your website, store, or review page.

A Linktree profile viewed in a browser with a website link button and a video preview link
  1. From My Linktree, select Edit. In the Links tab, select + Add.
  2. Paste your URL into the URL field.
  3. Add a Title. This is the text that appears on the button.

For more options, see How to create a link.

A Link App is an embedded experience. Visitors can watch a video, stream a podcast, fill out a form, or book an appointment, all without leaving your Linktree.

Interacting with Link Apps on a Linktree profile: playing an embedded video and opening a tip payment modal
  1. From My Linktree, select Edit. In the Links tab, select + Add.
  2. Search for or browse the Link Apps, then select one.
  3. Follow the prompts to set it up.

You can see every Link App in the Linktree Marketplace.

Link Apps help you keep visitors engaged:

  • Fewer clicks. The more clicks it takes to find something, the more likely visitors are to leave. Link Apps get them there faster. Our Bookings Link App led to 7x more bookings than links that sent visitors to a website.
  • Your value up front. Visitors want to know what your Linktree offers before they engage with you. Link Apps show it straight away.
  • Your story. Share your team's Spotify playlist or embed an "About us" video to build connection and trust.

There's no single right number, but keep these in mind:

  • Order matters. Links near the top of your Linktree usually get more clicks.
  • Start focused. To spread attention evenly across your content, aim for around 7 to 10 key items.
  • Group longer lists. If you need more than 10, use headers and layouts to keep your Linktree easy to scan on mobile.
