If your billing location is in the US or Canada, tax is added to your Linktree plan price at checkout. Your plan price stays the same, and the tax shows as a separate line on your invoice. This helps us comply with local tax laws where digital services are taxed. You don't need to do anything.
Note
If you're outside the US or Canada, VAT or GST is still included in your plan price where it's required.
Which taxes apply
Depending on where you are, these taxes may be added to your plan:
- US: Sales tax.
- Canada: GST/HST, QST, and PST.
Linktree Pty Ltd is an Australian company, but we're required to collect taxes in the US states and Canadian provinces that tax digital services.
How tax is calculated
We work out tax from your billing address, card country, or sign-up country. If your area taxes Linktree's service, tax is added at checkout. If it doesn't, or your location is tax-exempt, no tax is added.
Your total charge may be higher than before, depending on your local tax rate. Discounts and add-ons on your account don't change.
Note
If you're tax-exempt, for example as a nonprofit or a GST-registered business in Canada, your exemption documents need to be reviewed before tax is removed from your plan.
When tax-exclusive pricing started
Tax-exclusive pricing rolled out on December 1, 2025:
- New plans in the US were already tax-exclusive.
- New plans in Canada became tax-exclusive from December 1, 2025.
- Monthly plans in the US and Canada that were set up as tax-inclusive switched to tax-exclusive on December 1, 2025.
- Annual plans in the US become tax-exclusive at their first renewal after December 1, 2025. Until then, they continue under the old pricing.
Once your plan is tax-exclusive, your invoices and receipts show tax as a separate line item. You can download your invoices from your Billing page.
