How to manage your Linktree with AI tools

Connect an AI tool like Claude or ChatGPT to your Linktree, then ask it to make changes for you in plain language. You can add links, update your bio, check your Insights, and customize your appearance without switching tabs. If you manage more than one Linktree, you can update them all from a single chat.

This works through MCP (Model Context Protocol), an open standard that lets AI tools connect to other platforms and take actions in them. The AI tool acts on your behalf, with the same permissions you have in your Linktree Admin.

What you can do

With a connected AI tool, you can:

Add, edit, reorder, and delete links.
Update your bio and appearance settings.
Check your Insights, including your top-performing links and lifetime totals.
Manage your social links.
Access and update multiple Linktrees in a single session.

Connect Claude

Open Claude Desktop or go to claude.ai.
Go to Settings and select Connectors.
Select Add Connector and enter https://mcp.linktr.biz/mcp as the URL.
Follow the authorization steps to connect your Linktree.

Connect ChatGPT

Go to chatgpt.com and sign in.
Go to Settings and select Connectors.
Select Add Connector and enter https://mcp.linktr.biz/mcp as the URL.

What the AI tool can and can't do

A connected AI tool takes actions in your account on your behalf. It can:

Make any change you ask it to, within the limits of your own permissions.
Access and update multiple Linktrees, if you already have permission to manage them.

It can't:

Access Linktrees you don't already have permission to manage.
Access your payment details or visitor data.
Make changes outside what you've authorized.

Disconnect an AI tool

You can disconnect an AI tool from your Linktree at any time. Once it's disconnected, it can't access or change your Linktree.

Go to the connected AI tool's settings.
- In Claude, go to Settings and select Connectors.
- In ChatGPT, go to Settings and select Connectors.
Remove the Linktree connection.

Frequently asked questions

Is my data shared with the AI provider?

Only what you ask for, at the moment you ask for it. If you ask for your top links, the AI tool retrieves those links. If you ask it to update your bio, it sends the new bio text. Linktree doesn't share bulk data or run background exports to any AI provider, and never shares payment details or visitor data.

Does Linktree use my data to train AI models?

No. Linktree doesn't train AI models on data accessed through the AI tool connection.

Can the AI tool access my Linktree without me asking it to?

No. You start the connection through a standard authorization flow, and the AI tool only takes actions you ask it to take. It doesn't run in the background or make changes without your input.

What if the AI tool makes a change I didn't intend?

Every change made through an AI tool is logged separately from changes you make yourself in your Linktree Admin. If something doesn't look right, review your recent changes and update anything that needs fixing.
